Anointed Word Tabernacle Church of God in Christ. When did it begin? It's earthly beginning was August 16, 1992 in the Radisson Hotel Ballroom in downtown Atlanta, GA. But, it actualy began in the mind of God before the foundation of the world.

With approximately 67 people in attendance, of which, ten families joined, the title PASTOR for Evangelist Bobby Henderson became official. Those founding families were:

Sunday morning services began in the Radisson hotel. Tuesday night prayer and Bible study took place in the family room of the Henderson's home.

In a dream, the Lord showed Pastor Henderson that the North Quadrant of Metro Atlanta would be where the church building would be found. He also heard the word "Tabernacle".
Not knowing it would be prophetic of the different moves within the congregation, it also became part of the name of the local assembly; and tabernacling they did, from the Radisson to the Omni Hotel, to the Hilton. In January 1993, they were blessed to rent Grace Covenant Baptist Church for Sunday evening service. John Kennedy School Auditorium became Anointed Word Evangelistic Tabernacle's Sunday morning home. Grace Covenant and Pastor Stokes were also gracious to allow Anointed Word to use their facility for Tuesday night services and to sponsor many revivals.

After almost two years of tabernacling, Anointed Word began to grow and God once again opened another door. In May 1994, we moved into our present facility. Our church located at 2418 Panola Road, Lithonia, GA 30058, houses 12 classrooms, 3 offices, a sound room, a bookstore, an Usher room, a large fellowship Hall and a kitchen fully equipped.

Currently Anointed Word has 10 elders and 25 missionaries (female ministers). The church is comprised of 16 diffeent ministries with over 50 subdivisions. The current membership is approximately 1,348.
